IIT Roorkee Heritage Foundation Business Plan Competition 2010

Objective

Business Plan competition is to foster entrepreneurship among IIT Roorkee alums, and to provide an integrative learning experience for the community. Primary Objective of competition is to provide Roorkee alums a platform for refining ideas. This competition aims at the following:

• • Refine your ideas

  • Meet and learn from seasoned entrepreneurs

  • Build a network of mentors, investors and advisers

  • Develop your business plan

  • Present your plan to key members of the regional entrepreneurial and venture capital communities.

**Only businesses requiring seed stage funding would be considered. The competition will accept entries from participant teams with at least one IIT Roorkee Alumni as a member.

Opportunity for Entrepreneurs

• • 1-1 Mentorship session with Executive Committee

  • Pre-review and guidance and mentoring

  • Consideration of Angel Investment

  • Cash Prize for top 3 entries

    • First Prize: $1,000

    • Second Prize: $500

    • Third Prize: $250

Execution Process & Timelines

• 1. Submit initial entries to bizplan.2010@iitr-heritagefund.org by June 30^th, 2010

  2. Initial entries should included either a 1-2 page business idea summary document or 4-5 slides on business plan

  3. After initial review of the plan, an executive coach will be assigned for further refinement and plan documentation

  4. Business plans will then be presented to the executive committee who will select top 3 entries for heritage fund competition.

All Decisions made by Executive Committee will be final.
